Planet Martini

Role: Creative Direction, Design, website build, Photography, Photo editing

Built on refreshed content, Planet Martini weaves together recipes, trends and cultural touch points, relying heavily on photography, collage, and infographics, to showcase the modern Martini in all its forms. In total, the package links to nearly 20 pieces of preexisting content, and more than two dozen recipes placed within interactive modules.

Taking cues from our tagline (“It’s the Martini’s world, we’re just living in it”), Planet Martini builds on an aesthetic rooted in retrofuturism. As creative director and designer, I worked alongside the edit team to determine the package structure, then designed and built the page for both web and mobile using Ceros.

Planet Martini is a mix of original artwork (which I commissioned from collage artist Caitlyn Grabenstein) alongside repurposed photography from the Punch archives, a logo of my own design and multiple interactive features, among them, my pitch for a “Dirty Martini Matrix.” The latter, which we repurposed for the social promotion of the package, has been one of Punch’s best performing posts to date, and has established the matrix as a template that we return to regularly in promotion of other content across our social channels.
