Creative Direction and Design

Punch’s 10-Year Anniversary

Role: Creative Direction, web Design and build, collage, merchandise design

For the brand’s tenth anniversary, we developed a scrapbook-style look back on Punch’s best moments. (Among them: a photo essay chronicling the secret lives of distillery cats, a set of Lego bartenders, a calendar of nude French winemakers, stories about gatekeeping in wine and an exploration into the queer nightlife renaissance.)

As creative director and designer, I built the page using Ceros for mobile and desktop, with help from assistant designer Keila Gonzalez, who handled our yearbook section as well as the lead art for our staff favorite stories, and Maggie Gale, who edited the video module that introduces the page.

In addition to the design of the main page, including the text and header lockups, lead image collage and “WTF Moments” module, I also assigned and art directed a custom logo as well as illustration for items in our merch store (see: Olive and Martini on the Run), for which I also managed design.
